Our enterprise-wide DEI strategic framework is built on our mission to bring important new medicines to people with serious diseases and provides a structure for us to move forward on our commitments to our patients, communities and colleagues.

Regeneron’s strategy is rooted in the understanding that DEI drives better science, and that better science drives a better world. We believe that by fostering an inclusive culture and bringing diverse voices and perspectives to the discourse, we improve our ability to fulfill our mission.

OUR DEI STRATEGY

Through our strategic efforts, we aim to embed DEI into the fabric of Regeneron, weaving a rich tapestry based on our three pillars of Better Workplace, Better Science and Better World.

BETTER WORKPLACE

We’ve continued to pour our efforts into supporting a Better Workplace. In 2022, we added four employee resource groups (ERGs), bringing our total to nine ERGs, which now have nearly 4,000 members and have produced more than 65 events for employees. Our programs include Empathy Circles, Inclusion Cafes, an Inclusive Leadership Series, our Mentoring+ program, Social Justice Focus Groups, Culture Labs and more. We’ve also created relationships with external diverse professional organizations and universities. These efforts contributed to a measurable year-over-year increase in diversity representation in our workforce.

BETTER SCIENCE

As part of our commitment to Better Science, we’ve catalogued and funded research in 15 disease areas disproportionately affecting underrepresented groups that have been understudied in drug development. We have also collected one of the largest exome-sequenced databases of underrepresented populations of Asian, African and Latino/a ancestry to diversify the genetic research pool and better drive important medical discoveries.

BETTER WORLD

As part of our commitment to a Better World, we continued to support STEM education for all, including allocating $3.1 million annually to fund the Society for Science’s STEM outreach and equity programs. We enhanced our supplier diversity program by engaging with approximately 550 small businesses and diverse suppliers, representing 17 percent of our supply base.

As our company grows rapidly, we have a responsibility to foster our culture of inclusion. We continue to embed business practices that promote DEI and leverage the advantages of our broad-based workforce.
